George Washington was the first president of the United States. He led the US Army and won a victory over Britain in the American Revolution (1775-1783). He was elected the first President of USA in 1789. Even today, his name coin runs in America. Early life His mother's name was Mary Ball and Father's name was Augustine Washington. Both of them were teachers at a local university. As a child, Washington did not enter any school for a long time. There is a popular but false story about George Washington that once he broke his father's cherry tree in childhood. When his father asked him, he did not lie and told the truth that he had cut the tree. This story is told to tell and it is said how honest Washington was. But the funny thing is that this story is not true (true) and it was fabricated by Parson Weims. He lived in Virginia's army and was a member of his legislature when America was a slave.
